Recap of Devenger Place Neighborhood Watch Oct. 2011 meeting.

The meeting was well attended, considering it was outside with unusually cold weather. The Greenville County Crime Prevention Specialist MD Natalie Hill and 2 uniform officers were on site to speak to residents about how we can work together to keep our neighborhood safe. Communication is vital.
Know when to call 911 and non-emergency line 864-271-5210. Call 911 for crime in progress, call non-emergency for suspicious activity, or crimes which are already complete. Nothing is too small to report. Calling the non-emergency line, may help solve future crimes, and well as past crimes. Our call volume will determine deputy coverage for our area.
She also talked about 23 Crime/ Crime stoppers. If you have information regarding a crime, you can call anonymously and be given a report #. You can call back using that number, and if your tip lead to the arrest, and there is a reward you will be sent to a bank, where using your #, you will be issued the reward. No questions asked.
We then discussed with attendees, how the system will work. We will have Siobhan Tortora, Jim Cronin and Ginny Magee as the leaders. They will plan quarterly meetings, and ask the Sheriffs office to have someone come and speak on a variety of topics related to safety. There will be an update of criminal activity given from both the Sheriff's office and our payed patrols. We are currently in need of 3 volunteers (3 residents have already volunteered), to be the District Captains. This position will act as the point of contact for people needing to get the word out to all of Devenger. This District Captains, will inform the leaders, who will share it with the community, and also Sheriff's contact as well as our patrolling officers.
Next meeting will be in Jan. @ Pelham Rd. Library. Date to be determined.

Community Opportunity

The Devenger Place Family Center Board is excited to give you the opportunity to see your name in stone!

We are selling personalized, engraved bricks that will be permanently set into the ground for all to see! This is a great way for residents to be remembered for many years. Dedicate a brick to your favorite Devenger Dolphin, parent, child, grandparent or to commemorate a special moment in life.

The net proceeds from the sale of the bricks will be used to pay for the construction of a new Picnic Pavillion behind the basketball courts on the community property. To accomplish this we will need to sell approximately 300 bricks. After we sell enough to pay for the pavillion, they will be set as the patio to that structure. Not only will you get your name in stone, but when you purchase a brick you will be helping to enhance both the aestetics and value of our neighborhood.
This is an entire community effort. We want to include as many mothers, fathers, grandparents, children and members of our community in this fantastic opportunity.

Brick donation prices:
